BudtzBendix

BudtzBendix are the duo Camilla & Charlotte from Denmark Copenhagen. 'We met each other while studying Architecture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. After 3 years of studying Architecture, Camilla changed focus area and began studying Product Design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen.' Charlotte continued to study Architecture and moved to London to study at the prestigious Architectural Association and subsequently at the renowned Royal College of Art gaining a Master of Arts in Architecture. We both ended our studies in 2007. In the summer of 2007 we entered and won a competition run by the Architects Journal and Modus Furniture to design a mobile work station. This led us to develop a prototype and exhibit at the 100% Design Fair in Earls Court in September 2007. This experience kick started our collaboration on projects ranging from interior architecture to furniture design, including the TOWERchair. During it’s 3-4 years in development, we have both become mothers ourselves which has allowed us to rigorously test all aspects of our design. In 2011 the TOWERchair was tested and approved by the Danish Technological Institute (DS / EN14988 - 1:2008)
