Dutchess is the innovative label of the Dutch fashion designer Gwen van den Assem. Gwen was raised in a creative family. She graduated from the Academy of fine arts st. Joost in Breda, and worked as a stylist and designer for various trend offices and fashion brands. Since 2005 she is the owner and designer of Dutchess. The design studio is situated in the fameous Van Nelle Design Factory, a former coffee factory in Rotterdam. It is here where each individually drawn collection is conceived. Dutchess is characterised by femininity with an edge, as evident in the styles of the new collection. Each garment is made with careful attention to details. The sober and sleek designs of Dutchess have their own character, but at the same time they can be worn all the time, to make an effortless statement. The simplicity and pureness of the clothes emphasizes the individuality of the wearer. The designs can be easily combined and can be both worn casual and dressy. All items are made of high quality fabrics and are manufactured in Europe.
